Martin Schleske Master Luthier

The Violin's Voice

This film tells two interwoven plot lines: The tragedy of the loss of his beloved Stradivarius and the search for the new perfect match between star violinist Frank Peter Zimmermann and his new instrument and the genesis of a completely new violin.
By documenting the work, of master luthier Martin Schleske, viewers do not only discover the craft of a violin making, but also the miracle of the origin of sound.
From cutting special wood, to storing the timber, to the final handcraft, slowly but surely we will understand: Sound is created by passion. Ultimately, these two plots, closely interwoven, portray the true star of the documentary: the violin.

Joy Denalane

SOUND-TRECK EUROPE with Joy Denalane

In this pilot to a new series about the European musical heritage, soul musician Joy Denalane embarks on a journey to Austria to encounter the world of folk music. For centuries, this musical genre has provided a vital space for love and romanticism, struggle and revolution, suffering and longing. With deep regional roots, folk music promotes identities yet at the same time builds bridges between cultures and political systems. Beyond clichés of stylized folk nostalgia, this documentary series makes it almost palpable: Folk music is local world music, and therefore tailor-made for a new SOUND-TRECK EUROPE

Joyce DiDonato

Gala from Berlin 2017 with Joyce DiDonato

The same procedure as every year…but not quite. With a star guest such as Joyce DiDonato and a truly diverse and diverting programme selected by the very Sir Simon himself for his last Gala from Berlin as the BPO’s chief conductor, you can be sure that this concert was anything but conventional routine.

Join Joyce DiDonato, the Berliner Philharmoniker and Sir Simon Rattle and enjoy virtuous and ravishing interpretations of Dvořák, Stravinsky, R.Strauss, Shostakovich, Brahms and of course Leonard Bernstein, thus heralding the “Bernstein at 100 Centennial” as it were.

National Youth Orchestra Turkey

Young Euro Classic 2017

Allready labelled the “Bayreuth of the younger generation” (Berliner Morgenpost), Young Euro Classic is the world’s most important platform for international young orchestra musicians in the European classical music tradition. The best youth orchestras in the world guarantee exciting and inspiring concert performances, led by great conductors and flanked by virtuoso soloists.

After a successful collaboration in 2016, EuroArts recorded seven selected concerts in state-of-the-art image and sound quality. In addition, we provided livestreams through arte Concert for a musical journey through distant eras and diverse cultures.

Gustavo Dudamel at the Waldbühne Berlin

Waldbühne 2017

Berliner Philharmoniker · Gustavo Dudamel conductor

The orchestral music from Wagner’s Ring des Nibelungen is ideal for a concert at Berlin’s Waldbühne. Particularly with such a dynamic conductor as Gustavo Dudamel, pieces like the Ride of the Valkyries develop an impact that reaches even the very last rows of the enormous auditorium. Like Wagner’s opera cycle, Robert Schumann’s Third Symphony leads us to the Rhine, inspiring the composer to vibrating and sonorous music.

Schumann: Symphony No. 3 in E flat major ‚Rheinische‘
Wagner: Einzug der Götter in Walhall from Das Rheingold
Siegfrieds Rheinfahrt and Trauermarsch from Götterdämmerung
Waldweben from Siegfried
Walkürenritt from Die Walküre
