A Film and its Era: Rosetta (luc and Jean-Pierre Dardenne)

"Once upon a time... Rosetta" tells us about the origins, the making and the release of the Dardenne brothers' film "Rosetta" which received the Palme d'Or at the Cannes Festival in 1999. "Rosetta" relates the daily fight of a young girl against poverty and injustice. The documentary focuses on the economic and social context of Belgium, then enduring its worst recession era since WW2, and recounts the success of two demanding directors.
