“Piano for Kids” with Joseph & Anthony Paratore – Episode 2: Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart: Sonatas

Joseph and Anthony Paratore piano

“Piano for Kids” with Joseph & Anthony Paratore is an entertaining introduction to classical music masterpieces. The most popular classical music works are recounted in a lively and exciting way. The series consists of 6 episodes in which popular works suitable for children are presented. Episode 2 discusses two of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's Piano Sonatas: The Sonata in C major, K. 19d, is a work for piano four-hands in the traditional sonata form once thought to be composed by a nine-year-old Mozart in England in 1765. The second work is his Sonata for Two Pianos in D major, K. 448, one of his few compositions written for two pianos. Written in sonata-allegro form with interlocking melodies and simultaneous cadences, the sonata was composed for a performance Mozart would give with fellow pianist Josepha Auernhammer.
