Join us in this Special Screening at Avant Première, when soul musician Joy Denalane embarks on a journey through Austria in search for musical answers to current socio-political questions, and discovers the world of folk music.
Joy explores the country’s musical tradition which has much more to offer than zithers and hammered dulcimers, alphorns and accordions, as well as a lone yodeler somewhere in the Alps. Discovering Mahler’s roots in Austria, she gets lost in a world with pure traditional music bands in Tirol and Toblach, encounters young and wild folk musicians from Federspiel and Alma, and jams with the legend of Viennese Song Roland Neuwirth.
