Wir sind das Volk! Peaceful Revolution and German Reunification
Leading to the fall of the Berlin Wall, the documentary will present a concise lookback at the events at the beginning of October 1989. The church of St. Nikolai in Leipzig is symbolic in its initiation of peaceful demonstrations. Several interviews, in particular with the Vicar of the Church, Christian Führer who by his persistance considerably influenced the non-violent end of the revolution, as well as documentary records, photos and reports by contemporary witnesses, impart a vivid impression of the importance and the atmosphere of those days in Leipzig.
