Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart: Die Entführung aus dem Serail

This performance of the Staatsoper Suttgart was acclaimed by music critics as the "Performance of the Year 1998" in the German magazine "Opernwelt". This unusual production of Hans Neuenfels recreated a game with forms and appearances of the music theatre, based on Mozart's concept "Ein deutsches Singspiel" (a German song game). In keeping, to the greatest possible degree, with Mozart's text and unaltered music, this aspect gives the well-known opera a completly new appearance.
