Young Euro Classic 2024: Highlights
In celebration of its 25th anniversary, Young Euro Classic 2024 presents a special programme featuring highlights from four youth orchestras, showcasing diverse musical traditions from across the globe. The European Union Youth Orchestra offers Britten’s The Young Person’s Guide to the Orchestra, exemplifying European musical unity. The Orquestra Sinfônica Jovem de Goiás from Brazil brings the rhythms of South America with Villa-Lobos’s Bachianas Brasileiras. The Eurasian Student Symphony Orchestra from Kazakhstan blends Kazakh heritage with orchestral music in Tlendijew’s Makhambet. The MIAGI Orchestra from South Africa concludes with a lively performance of the jazz standard Birdland, reflecting the fusion of jazz and African influences.
