Young Euro Classic 2024: Orquestra Sinfonica Jovem de Goias

The Orquestra Sinfônica Jovem de Goiás, a youth orchestra from the heart of Brazil, takes the stage at Young Euro Classic 2024 with a programme that highlights the vibrant and diverse musical traditions of South America.

The concert features works by Heitor Villa-Lobos, Brazil’s most celebrated composer, whose Bachianas Brasileiras skilfully blends the influence of Johann Sebastian Bach with Brazil’s rich dance traditions. The programme also includes a dynamic suite from Estancia by Argentine composer Alberto Ginastera, a piece that captures the fiery energy and pastoral beauty of Argentina. Additionally, Guido Sant’Anna performs a violin concerto by Hekel Tavares, a Brazilian composer known for his deep connection to the folk music of his homeland.
