Young Euro Classic 2024: MIAGI Orchestra
The MIAGI Orchestra from South Africa returns to Berlin for the 25th anniversary season of Young Euro Classic. This programme explores the intersections between the African diaspora and the ongoing struggle against ethnic inequality. Since their debut at Young Euro Classic in 2009, the MIAGI Orchestra has gained recognition for blending European classical music with South African traditions. Under the direction of percussionist and conductor David Panzl, the programme features works by European, American, and South African composers, including George Gershwin, Silvestre Revueltas, and iconic pieces such as Black Child, Birdland, and Miles Davis’s Blue in Green.
