Soirée Baroque - Baroque Night
A concert performed by the Orchestre de Chambre de Paris, recognised for almost half a century as a European benchmark, a Mozart-style ensemble famous for its reinterpretation of the classics. One of the distinctive features of this ensemble is its “joué-dirigé” method, which will be illustrated by David Fray, acting as both soloist and conductor from his piano.
This concert also features Felix Klieser. Despite a disability that could have prevented him from pursuing a musical career, Klieser has become one of the most admired horn players on the international scene.
The programme begins with Bach's majestic Brandenburg Concerto No. 5, followed by Beethoven's profound Concerto for Piano and Orchestra nᵒ 3, masterfully performed by David Fray.
Horn player Felix Klieser, known for his moving interpretations, offers rare arrangements for horn of famous pieces such as Handel's ‘Lascia ch'io pianga’, Vivaldi's touching ‘Cum dederit’ from the Nisi Dominus, as well as adaptations of Bach's soothing cantata Vergnügte Ruh and Vivaldi's dynamic Gloria.
Antonio Vivaldi: Nisi Dominus RV 608, « Cum dederit » (arrangement for horn);
Georg Friedrich Händel: Rinaldo HWV 7A, Act II, scene 4 : Lascia ch'io pianga (arrangement for horn);
Johann Sebastian Bach: Vergnügte Ruh, beliebte Seelenlust BWV 170 (arrangement for horn);
