Sung about in legend, the Chambre d'Amour (Chamber of Love) is a cave on the Côte d'Argent (Silver Coast) that was once flooded by the waves at high tide, and since the 18th century, has been the scene of a romantic tragedy. History names them Ura and Ederra (water and beauty in Basque), and it was at the very moment when they were enjoying life the most that the ocean engulfed them. The next day, their bodies, entwined on the sand, added another page to the literature of lovers whose happiness is shattered by fate: Othello and Desdemona, Romeo and Juliet, Dido and Aeneas, Orpheus and Eurydice…
