French guitarist Thibaut Garcia, widely recognised as one of the leading voices of his generation, brings a focused and expressive solo recital to the 2025 Verbier Festival. His programme centres on the music of Agustín Barrios Mangoré, whose works remain foundational to the modern classical guitar repertoire, from intimate lyricism to virtuosic display. Garcia’s interpretations highlight the structural clarity and rhythmic vitality of Barrios’s writing, including the landmark La Catedral. The recital also features guitar arrangements of works by Chopin, Paganini and Beethoven, reflecting both the instrument’s adaptability and Barrios’s lasting influence on how non-guitar repertoire is translated for the instrument.
