Giovanni Sebastiano - the Italian influence on Bach

I Barocchisti Diego Fasolis continuo | Nancy Argenta soprano | Guillemette Laurens alto

J.S.Bach's arrangement of the "Stabat Mater" by G.B. Pergolesi has been produced in Italy, in the Villa Medici Giulini, which was built in 1643. The room with its great acoustics was named Zuccarelli Hall after Francesco Zuccarelli who, in the late 18th century, made the frescos adorning the walls and depicting the beautiful local landscape. The music is performed by I Barocchisti under Diego Fasolis and with renowned soloists (Nancy Argenta - soprano, Guillemette Laurens - alto). In addition, there is a short documentary on how Bach was influenced by Italy.
