Waldbühne 2001: Spanish Night

To standing ovations, Placido Domingo led the Berliner Philharmoniker with special guests Sarah Chang (violin) and Ana Maria Martinez (soprano) through an evening of popular Spanish compositions. Sarah Chang's performance of the virtuoso dances by Pablo de Sarasate was most impressive. She combines power of expression with a clean fingering technique. Her rendition of the devilishly difficult Carmen Fantasy brought the audience to its feet.
