The Gewandhaus Quartet plays Mozart

The Gewandhaus Quartet consists of some of Europe's most prestigious musicians and is a favorite in classical music venues around the globe. It is the oldest, uninterrupted existing string quartet in the world. Founded almost 200 years ago, the Leipzig Gewandhaus Quartet can be seen as a remarkable part of the western history of music. Since its founding in 1809 the quartet has continued its concert activity from generation to generation with great success.
