The California-based Turtle Island String Quartet is a far from conventional ensemble. Its musicality, zest and humour are infectiously entertaining. This live concert recording of Turtle Island playing a mix of classical and jazz compositions was made at the Munich Philharmonie. Part of the programme is played with the Munich Radio Orchestra, under conductor Wojciech Rajski. A short documentary introduction about the quartet is available.
