Chick Corea and Bobby McFerrin "WE PLAY"

The two grand masters of jazz have been close friends for a number of years. We decided to portray this „artists’ friendship” in a sophisticated yet entertaining form. Recordings of several concerts in Munich and Verbier are a vivid attestation of a creative co-operation, which for many years now has made the performances of both these masters of improvisation an unforgettable experience. What is therefore all the more surprising, is that they also present „classical” or written music in a terrific and congenial manner. The recordings of Mozart’s Piano Concertos No. 20 KV 466 and No. 23 KV 488 by Chick Corea as soloist and both conducted and sung by Bobby McFerrin have become famous. Just as exciting is the rendition of the piano concerto „Spain” by Chick Corea together with the orchestra of the Verbier music festival concucted by Bobby McFerrin. Encounters with Evgeny Kissin, Joshua Bell, Avishai Cohen, Jeff Ballard and many other friends of the grand masters of spontaneity additionally provide the film with surprising and enlightening colourful highlights.
