Les 50ans de l’Orchestre de Paris

London Voices | Choeur de l‘Orchestre de Paris
Orchestre de Paris
Daniel Harding

Founded in 1967 after the dissolution of the Orchestre de la Société des Concerts du Conservatoire, the Orchestre de Paris celebrated its 50th anniversary with a programme packed with wonders in 2017. Apart from beloved works by Berio, Stravinsky and Debussy, the gala concert also saw the premiere of Widmann’s Au coeur de Paris, a new piece written for the orchestra in honour of the occasion. Au coeur de Paris is short and unashamedly cinematic with a nod to Edith Piaf’s signature song La vie en rose.

Repertoire

Berio: Sinfonia for 8 voices
Stravinsky: Symphony of Psalms; The Firebird - Finale
Widmann: Au coeur de Paris - Petite fantasie de chanson pour orchestre
Debussy: La Mer
