Waldbühne 2022: Symphonic Pictures
This year, the Berliner Philharmoniker and Kirill Petrenko end the season in the Waldbühne with pianist Kirill Gerstein. Gerstein performs Rachmaninov's Concerto for Piano and Orchestra No. 2 in C minor, op. 18, with which he made his acclaimed debut with the Berliner Philharmoniker in 2016. Modest Mussorgsky’s Pictures at an Exhibition is also on the programme. In rapid succession we experience scenes of tremendous force and richness, from a droll ballet of chicks to the grotesque hut of the witch Baba Yaga.
