La Roque d’Anthéron 2004. This summer, like every other for decades, a hundred pianists from around the globe gather under the sycamores of the French Provence to delight audiences with one of the most celebrated piano festivals in the world. This special, two-hour program, Les Pianos de l’Eté (Summer Pianos) directed by Don Kent, combining filmed concerts, documentary sequences, and scripted segments, immerses viewers in the unique summery atmosphere of La Roque, as if they had lived through two full weeks of the festival themselves. A unique festival diary with outstanding performances by Christian Zacharias, Yundi Li, Boris Berezovsky, Piotr Anderszewski, Stephen Kovacevich, etc. as well as by young upcoming talents. The film is accompanied by a series of 10 concerts (see ROQUE D’ANTHERON 2004).
