Classic Archive 017 - Irmgard Seefried
This episode of Classic Archive is dedicated to the soprano Irmgard Seefried. We are invited to listen to different performances of Strauss, Mahler and a splendid performance of Quattro Canzoni of Werner played by the ORTF National Orchestra. Once more, we are charmed by the naturalness of the soprano and the undeniable clearness of her voice. The episode ends magnificently with two great singers who have performed a number operas with Irmgard. Let us listen to the performance of Anton Dermota of Der Musensohn of Schubert accompanied by his wife Hilda on the piano. And then Hans Hotter performing, in an imperial way, the part Die beiden grenadiere by Schumann.
