Quatuor Arod at the Fondation Singer-Polignac: Mozart, Beethoven, Debussy, Haydn

Quatuor Arod

So, what is this “Arod”? A forgotten composer, a mythical city, a mysterious acrostic? In fact, the Arod Quartet chose as their tutelary figure a horse imagined by Tolkien in The Lord of the Rings. A symbol of strength and ardor. The Quartet was born in 2013 at the Conservatoire de Paris and they won the First Prize at the ARD competition in Munich, in 2016 and soon were recording for Warner Classics. This programme filmed by Bruno Monsaingeon displays the vast array of their versatile talent.

Repertoire

Mozart: String Quartet No.19 K.465 "Dissonance", Beethoven: String Quartet No.11 Op.95 "Serioso", Debussy: String Quartet Op.10, Haydn: String Quartet Op.76 No.2 (II. Andante)
