Absolute Scriabin - Symphony No. 3

Soo-Jin Hong, concertmaster
Danish National Symphony Orchestra
Fabio Luisi

Scriabin's Symphony No. 3, titled Le Divin Poème (The Divine Poem), is composed in three parts with lofty French titles: Luttes (Struggles), Voluptés (Delights), and Jeu Divin (Divine Play). Scriabin transforms the traditional symphonic genre into a new type of musical poetry, where the movements flow seamlessly into one another. His artistic imagination was visionary, and he created a unique musical universe where sensuality and spirituality merge.
