Young Euro Classic 2017 – Asian Youth Orchestra

Asian Youth Orchestra
James Judd

The Asian Youth Orchestra (AYO) is a youth orchestra composed of musicians from several Asian countries. It was founded by Yehudi Menuhin and Richard Pontzious in 1987. In 2017, the orchestra played for the first time at the Young Euro Classic festival, the world’s most important platform for international young orchestra musicians in the European classical music tradition and for its development.
Berlin-based newspaper Der Tagesspiegel praises the rich carpet of sound the orchestra weaves as well as the youthful, infectious energy of their performance.
