Take a pianist and composer from today's jazz scene, a curious musician constantly on the lookout for new experiences. Put him in the presence of soloists from the Ensemble Intercontemporain for a stimulating improvisation session. Then leave them to simmer, each in their own way, not without stirring from time to time. After a while, a surprising work will emerge: a hybrid score for piano/double bass/percussion trio and ensemble, with a solidly composed structure but in which improvisation reigns supreme. This is NEWBORN. Led by Roberto Negro himself, Nicolas Crosse on double bass, and percussionist Michele Rabbia, NEWBORN is an original experiment in musical off-tracking.
