J.S. Bach:The Well-Tempered Clavier I&II

Angela Hewitt, Joanna MacGregor, Nikolai Demidenko, Andreij Gavrilov

In February 2000, to mark the 250th anniversary of J.S. Bach’s death, four world-class pianists collaborated on the realization of a very special project. Each played twelve Preludes and Fugues from the Well-Tempered Clavier at on of four charming venues (New art Gallery, Walsall – Palazzo Labia, Venice – Palau Güell, Barcelona – Wartburg, Eisenach), and these performances were recorded and impressively staged that the highly skilled visual direction literally opens up entirely new perspectives on Bach’s music: 260 minutes of nothing but Bach – to watch, listen to and experience!
