A Night in Vienna

Lesley Garrett soprano
Wiener Akademie
Alfred Eschwé, David Charles Abell

A Night in Vienna recreates the beauty and atmosphere of the ballroom performances of 19th century Vienna. In the wonderful setting of the Hofburg in Vienna the period instrument orchestra Wiener Akademie plays Strauss Family and Joseph Lanner favourites including "Blue Danube Waltz", "Tritsch Tratsch Polka" and the "Radetzky March". Formerly the residence of the Habsburg rulers, the Vienna Hofburg contains the state and residential apartments of Emperor Franz Joseph and Empress Elisabeth. The featured Soloist is the opera diva Lesley Garrett, Britain's most popular soprano. The spirit of the Strauss era is best illustrated by actual waltzing dancers. A Night in Vienna features dance performances in historical costumes and a beautiful setting that takes you back to old Vienna.
