Prague Spring Night 2018

Slovak Philharmonic Choir, Jan Vacik, tenor
Slovak Philharmonic
James Judd; Jozef Chabron, choirmaster

James Judd and the Slovak Philharmonic present two forgotten gems of the Czech and Slovak repertoire: Fibich and Suchon, who are currently being rediscovered by Czech and Slovak musicians. The program is complemented by Janácek’s Sinfonietta, a work in the spirit of the composer, who ignored the naïve spirit of national awakening of his time and instead emphasized the individual uplifiting of the human soul. Closing concert from Prague Spring Festival 2018.

Repertoire

Fibich, Comenius Op. 34; Suchon, Psalm of the Carpathian Land Op. 12; Janacek, Sinfonietta
