Fabio Luisi conducts the DNSO: Strauss: Horn Concerto No. 1

Beethoven’s immortal Seventh Symphony is a triumphant accumulation of energy, and in this radiating performance by the Danish National Symphony Orchestra and chief conductor Fabio Luisi, it is combined with captivating late romantic works by Schoenberg and Richard Strauss. Soloist in Strauss’ virtuoso Horn Concerto is the orchestra’s principal horn player Lasse Mauritzen, of which a critic wrote after this concert: “what a wonderfully varied dynamic palette – simply an outstanding performance.”
