This concert captures the collaboration with Vladimir Ashkenazy - an established conductor who himself has been a major soloists for the past half-century - in one of the most demanding pieces of the violin repertoire: Sibelius’ violin concerto. The 90 minutes version offers the complete concert, while the 52 minutes version features Rakastava by Sibelius and Schumann’s Symphony No. 2 and the 43 minutes programme Sibelius’ Valse triste plus the concerto for violin.
