The three artists combine their considerable talents to bring three musical worlds together at a concert in the Roman Amphitheatre in the German city of Xanten.

The performance features the talents of today's leading Bach expert, Helmuth Rilling with his Gächinger Kantorei and Bach-Collegium Stuttgart, in the first performance of this work since its rediscovery in 1988.

Leonard Bernstein based his Serenade for violin and orchestra on Plato's "Symposium". Like every work by Bernstein, the Serenade is rife with melodic and rhythmic vibrancy and originality.

This performance is a very intimate meeting of three great artists of Jazz, featuring music ranging from Argentinian Tango to international musical favourites. Very rarely has the vibrant intensity of a performance been captured with such atmosphere.
